Nirvana's 1991 hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has hit one billion plays on Spotify. The next closest the band has to that mark is "Come As You Are", which is hovering around 620 million plays, followed by "Heart-Shaped Box" at 327 million plays.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is off Nirvana's 1991 album Nevermind. The album has been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, meaning it has sold over 10 million copies in the United States.
As for the one billion plays mark on Spotify, Linkin Park also recently joined that club with their 2000 hit "In The End".
