Yesterday, metal media posted about an upcoming movie called The Virginia Bitches starring vocalists like Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), and Corey Taylor (Slipknot). Though according to Taylor, he has no idea what we're all talking about and is absolutely not in The Virginia Bitches despite being listed on the IndieGoGo yesterday.
"I'm not sure how this got started, but I want to be clear: I am NOT in a movie called The Virginia Bitches," said Taylor. "My apologies to the fans, those involved with the film and all the media outlets who are reporting on it. Thank you."
The IndieGoGo has been updated to remove Taylor and to note which actors are "locked" for the project and which are "in negotiations with agent."
The Virginia Bitches is a new horror movie directed by Scott Hansen, written by Hansen and his wife Desiree, produced by Chris Dudley of Underoath, and executive produced by while Dallas Taylor of Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster. The Virginia Bitches takes place in the town next to New Salem in the 2020 film Bad Candy (starring Corey Taylor for real this time, we promise), and featured the following actors who has definitely committed to the project:
- Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy)
- Dallas Taylor (Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster)
- Heidi Shepherd (Butcher Babies)
- Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God)
- Scott Ian Lewis (Carnifex)
- Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust)
- Lucas Mann (Rings Of Saturn)
As for the plot, the film is described as "a female death metal band who are vampires break down in a town full of cannibals led by a Warlock." The Virginia Bitches is currently on IndieGoGo and is seeking $350,000. Check that out here.
