NACHTMYSTIUM Guitarist Comments On Frontman's Arrest

Yesterday, we reported the not-so-shocking story that Nachtmystium frontman Blake Judd was arrested for theft charges in the greater Chicago area.

I say not-shocking because there have been rumors of him not shipping items he sells on eBay on time for a while, and he has documented his drug problems in the past. Still, it's sad to see one of the brightest talents in the modern metal scene fall off in such a way.

Today, new Nachtmystium guitarist Timothy “Scare Crow” Preciado checked in with a comment about the situation.

Tim emailed our friends over at MetalSucks with the following statement:

There has been a lot of buzz around Chicago about Blake’s situation regarding his recent run in with the law. The rest of Nachtmystium asks that everyone be patient with all things considered. I also want to openly say that John, and myself had zero knowledge of Blake’s personal decisions in life, as this comes as a surprise to us as well. As a brand new member of the band, I definitely hope this recent speed bump does NOT tarnish mine nor any other member of the band's reputation, as we do not conduct ourselves in such a manner. My only regret is to apologize to any of the fans that might not be able to see us at the planned upcoming performances.

I will say it seems a bit odd that a member of the band is trying to save face when the blame is being pointed squarely at Blake and not his bandmates.

Either way, the band have a few gigs lined up next week and who knows if they will even make it to them at this point, or if Judd will feel up for it. Judd has a history of (literally) missing the boat.
