Chicago sludge miscreants Lord Mantis have returned despite founder/drummer Bill Bumgardner's suicide in 2016.
His death is partly why the band decided to get back together with returning guitarist/vocalist Andrew Markuszewski (Avichi, ex-Nachtmystium), vocalist/bassist Charlie Fell (Cobalt), guitarist Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams, ex-The Faceless), honorary vocalist/guitarist Dylan O'Toole (Indian) and new drummer Bryce Butler.
Aside from O'Toole, other guests on the new album include Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Dallas Thomas (Pelican).
Releasing Universal Death Church on Nov. 22, the band is honoring Bumgardner in the best way possible because both released singles SLAP HARD. The second single, "Qliphotic Alpha," is depraved and merciless.
