Monarch Films has plenty of rock documentaries to their name including ones looking at the careers of AC/DC, Metallica, and Kiss. All of those have the correct band photo on the cover. Then there's the Mötley Crüe documentary, which Steel Panther vocalist Michael Starr has noted on his Instagram features a photo of Steel Panther as the main image. It's an especially baffling blunder considering the top photo of Mötley Crüe is correct, but then the main image staring right at you isn't. Which feels like a pretty important detail considering it's one of the first, if not the first, impressions anyone gets about the film.
The below video only touches on the Amazon listing, but nope – it's wrong on the film studio's website as well (and it's spelled "Motley Crew" there, too). Rock 'n Roll Icon: Motley Crue doesn't have any reviews on Amazon so we can't say how it is in terms of quality, but you can rent it here if you're curious.
Mötley Crüe is currently out on their stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts. But maybe they should consider a run with Steel Panther in the future? They'd only need one promo photo!
