LAMB OF GOD Frontman Randy Blythe Quits Twitter

This is a sad day for me. My favorite tweeter ever, Randy Blythe has decided that when it comes to Twitter, he's over it. Yes, this is news! Randy's tweet ramblings would provide constant fodder for this blog, whether he's ranting on why he's not pissed his album leaked, comparing Marilyn Manson's first week sales to Lamb of God's, or just live tweeting a massive hurricane, the dude was my favorite musician to follow on there. But, on Friday, Blythe decided it was time to go:

First, he said he was going to temporarily delete Twitter from his phone, to get away from it for a while, because he was getting sick of it, but that he would be back. Then, he changed his mind and tweeted this:

Actually, I’ve changed my mind. After a few short hours of no twitter on my phone, I feel much better. Although I believe social networking can be used in a positive manner, I also believe it is for the most part a gigantic waste of time. Especially for me. It doesn’t hurt that it’s kinda addictive, & I certainly have that aspect of my personality.

So peace, I’m fucking outta here. If you see someone on Twitter or Facebook claiming to be me, don’t believe them, because I’ve never had Facebook and in about three minutes I won’t have Twitter. So it was nice to meet some of y’all. I wish you well. Now I’m gonna go read a good book.

Peace- D. Randall Blythe PS- #Randonesia will never die!”

If you try to visit his Twitter page, it is now private, only visible to the people he follows. His Tumblr page is still active, so hopefully we haven't heard the last of his (usually totally on-point) ramblings.
