Knocked Loose just released their highly-anticipated new record You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To, and it might be the band's heaviest offering yet.

In a new interview with New Noise Magazine, Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris touched on the band's wide array of tourmates over the years and how they've influenced Knocked Loose. Garris noted that the diversity of bands they tour with have made "the umbrella that we exist under larger in terms of inspiration," and mentioned that Gojira actually had a pretty big influence on You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To.

"We're very heavily influenced by our peers," said Garris. "So touring with a band like Gojira and just watching how that massive sound translates to such a big crowd without sacrificing any of the intensity was very inspiring for us. So there are moments where I can say we've always worn our influences on our sleeve, and there are moments that I can say, this is Gojira, and you probably wouldn't even tell, you know what I mean?

"And with every record, I think we've just brought in more influences and inspiration. The ultimate goal was to just increase the scale of Knocked Loose, bringing somebody like [producer] Drew [Fulk] in and seeing what he brought to the table, and the sound design that he offered us just made everything sound larger. We wanted the breakdowns to hit harder. We wanted the drums to punch more. We wanted the riffs to be brighter. Everything that he brought to the table just really helped it sound more extreme."
