If there was ever a movie on thrash, Slayer and their guitarist Kerry King would absolutely be in it. We could sit here and argue over who might play who (James Hetfield could at least do it himself), but King already knows who he'd pick.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, King said: "The only one that loosely fits the description is Vin Diesel. If you go down that road you might also say The Rock, but I'm not nearly that giant! That would be awesome, though – I'll say The Rock, because I like a lot of the stuff he's in."
On one hand, The Rock would be hilarious because the dude is jacked as hell and King is not. And if he was gonna do it, I'd prefer absolutely nobody to tone down how jacked The Rock it – just a big, muscular King running around without a single person addressing the issue. On the other hand, Vin Diesel would be interesting because he seems like a pretty chill guy.
King – not The Rock or Diesel – is set to hit the road again for a 28-date North American headline tour in 2025. The tour will kick off on January 15, 2025, in San Francisco, and will conclude on February 22 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. Special guests include Municipal Waste and Alien Weaponry, therefor you can count on a heavy dose of thrash and metal energy to keep those fists in the air.
