Iced Earth and Demons & Wizards guitarist Jon Schaffer participated in the seditious raid on the White House on January 6, and is currently wanted by the FBI. While Iced Earth vocalist Stu Block chose not to condemn Schaffer's decision, Schaffer's bandmate in Demons & Wizards Hansi Kürsch is simply waiting for a full investigation.
Kürsch said in a statement he is saddened by what happened on January 6, but will not be commenting further on the situation right now. Which is fair, given Kürsch just saw a friend do something pretty despicable.
"We are deeply shocked and our thoughts are with the relatives of the deceased. We expressly distance ourselves from any kind of violence irrespective if applied against institutions or persons. The incidents will be thoroughly investigated and the responsibles will be brought to justice. We ask for your understanding that in view of the hourly news situation we will not make any further comments at present."
The FBI is “seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals who made unlawful entry into the United States Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C.” Anyone with information regarding these individuals, or anyone who witnessed any unlawful violent actions at the Capitol or near the area, is asked to contact the FBI's Toll-Free Tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) to verbally report tips.
