Guitarist Tom Maxwell Doesn't Feel the Need to Continue HELLYEAH After Vinnie Paul's Death

"I don't find a need or a necessity to continue without Vince."

Founding Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul (ex-Pantera) passed away in 2018. Hellyeah released their final album with Paul titled Welcome Home in 2019, and toured with drummer Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour, ex-Soulfly) behind the kit. Now that that's all over, guitarist Tom Maxwell tells The Ex-Man Podcast that he's not so sure he wants Hellyeah to continue on without Paul.

"When he died — I'm not gonna lie — my passion, my love affair died as well with him," said Maxwell. "I don't even know if there's gonna ever be another Hellyeah record. I don't even know if I wanna make another Hellyeah record without him.

"I'm at a point right now where I've done some amazing shit with some amazing people and I've released a lot of great records. And I've found success in those — more elsewhere than others," he continued. Like I said, my love affair has kind of been cockblocked a little bit. I don't find a need or a necessity to continue without Vince."

As of right now, Maxwell and vocalist Chad Gray (ex-Mudvayne) are the band's two remaining original members.
