Here's Gene Simmons Review Of A LAMB OF GOD Track

This… actually makes sense.

This... actually makes sense.

Just from what I've read of Gene Simmons opinions in the media, I can say that I don't really agree with the dude a lot. I don't hate the guy or anything, I just don't really jive with his thoughts. That being said, this is an incredibly even-keeled opinion he's got on Lamb of God's music and I actually think it's a pretty interesting thought.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Simmons heard "512" by Lamb of God said he actually likes the music but wishes the vocals were a little bit different.

"Lamb are a solid bunch of musicians — capable and bombastic. But while I like the backing track here, I must confess this type of vocal styling — what would happen if a werewolf tried singing? — just ain't my thing. Not that I'm claiming I can sing, mind you. Personally, I'd be curious what this fine backing track would sound like with a decent melody and with Dave Grohl's vocals."

I wouldn't say I wish Lamb of God would just drop the screaming or anything like that, but maybe an alternate version would be cool just to see what it was like. Hell, Lamb of God used clean vocals for the first time ever on its most recent record anyway, so maybe that's where things are headed?
