Being in Slayer is not easy.

Gary Holt has been in Slayer now for four years (!). Joining Slayer is no easy task, in fact Holt injured himself while recording the new material for the band.

When talking about the new Slayer track, "Implode," Holt said that that song "doesn't even touch" the rest of the material on the album:

I got the call and I went down to do solos and I did nine leads in one day and I went home. Everybody was like damn that was crazy, and what I did was I blew my left wrist out. I was shredding so long and hard and I just wanted to get through them and I felt some pain halfway through it and I just kept going and the next day I couldn’t even move my hand.

Well this is certainly reassuring news. Slayer is expected to release their new album sometime this year.
