Feud of the Day: TRIVIUM vs. Decibel Magazine

Since there really aren't any major stories today, we thought we should share some teasing between two entities that we happen to be big fans of. We have no dog in this fight, we're kind of like that meme of the kid dabbing while two girls fight, just here to watch. The beef is between Trivium and the extremely-extreme Decibel Magazine.

Decibel editor Albert Mudrain has long joked that one of the magazine's regrets was putting Trivium the cover of an early edition of the magazine. With all the news of President Trump's final pardons before leaving office this morning, the Decibel editor took the moment to make a joke:

Trivium frontman Matt Heafy saw the jab and decided to jab back.

When a fan asked Decibel why the constant ribbing on Trivium, Decibel explained it just made their subscribers really angry and it turned into a running joke. Decibel clarified that the band were deserving and that their debut album was great.

Another fan tells Decibel to own it, and they say they did.

Trivium's manager chimed in to ask "What’s the point of this in 2021? Honestly what other mainstream global metal band embraces underground bands and culture like these guys?"

Did you find yourself laughing or did you think the joke was out of place? It should be noted that Decibel has since given the band positive press, including their album The Sin and the Sentence.

Here's that infamous cover by the way:
