Korn sure know how to keep themselves in the headlines. After experimenting with the inclusion of dubstep on their last record, the band is promising a more "guitar based" sound, which is funny, because if you talk to music nerds, they will say that the band never had a "guitar based" sound to begin with. (Hiyo!)
The band clearly knows the money is in the live show, and with reunion mania at a high, and after a successful one-off previously, the band will be once again re-joined by former guitarist Brian "Head" Welch to perform at Rock Am Ring and Rock Am Park, the yearly back to back summer German festivals.
While it's being advertised as the first time the band will be playing a full set with Head since 2004, nearly seven years agp, he joined the band on stage this past May to play one song of their debut album, "Blind."
The 2013 festivals will both be held on June 7 – 9, with the Rock am Ring festival being held at the Nurburgring racetrack in the west of Germany, while Rock im Park is around the Frankenstadion in the south of Germany. Other bands confirmed for the shows are Stone Sour, Bad Religion, Five Finger Death Punch, and Bullet for My Valentine.
Something tells me this isn't the last we've heard of these guys combining forces.
For what it's worth, "Head" is currently promoting his new project, Love And Death.
