Former KORN Guitarist's New Lyric Video Proves Why Some Bands Shouldn't Make Lyric Videos

Every label is making lyric videos these days. It makes sense from a financial standpoint. Lyric videos give the fans something to look at while sampling new material from a band, and they are much cheaper and easier to produce than a music video. You just have to hire one guy with After Effects expertise to create a lyric video, as opposed to a music video, where you need to hire a whole crew, get the band to the location, etc. It can be a nightmare.

But one thing these label bigwigs don't take into account, is by creating lyric videos, it exposes just how terrible lyrics to some of these songs are.

Case in point: Love and Death, the new band from ex-Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch just put out a lyric video for the song "Between Here & Lost":

"I feel my mind getting numb. Why do I hurt myself?" is a sampling of the lyrics in this song, and I asked myself the same thing when watching this video.

These lyrics are just so bad. Why even do this? Why not just have a still photo of Head and then the song playing? It would at least try to hide the shitty lyrics.

If you think I'm wrong and are actually looking forward to this, the band's new album, Between Here & Lost comes out November 19th on Solid State Records.
