David Ellefson Doesn't Have A Copy Of MEGADETH's New Album With His Original Bass Parts

"They belong to Universal Records. It's their property."

Bassist David Ellefson was fired from Megadeth back in May after a much-publicized sexual affair between Ellefson and an unnamed woman. Megadeth then removed Ellefson's bass parts from their new album and had a currently unknown bassist (rumored to be Steve Di Giorgio of Testament) re-record them.

Now in a new interview with Talk Toomey, Ellefson reveals he doesn't have a copy of the new album with his original bass parts.

"I don't, no, because it was all in sort of Dropbox and all that kind of stuff. You don't take anything out of there; you always leave it in there. That's the professional acumen. So, no, I do not. I don't have a copy… They weren't mine to have. They belong to Universal Records. It's their property. They paid for it; it's their property."

Megadeth has not yet announced an official replacement for Ellefson, but did have ex-bassist James LoMenzo filling in for him live. LoMenzo originally played with Megadeth between 2006 and 2010.
