Tony Iommi is currently in remission from stage 3 lymphoma and is finishing up his final tour dates with Black Sabbath, meaning he's probably not doing to shabby.
While Iommi says he's still feeling pretty good right now, he tells The Irish Times he's been informed by his doctor that there's a lump in his throat and it'll have to be removed.
“I went for a check four weeks ago and the doctor said that at the moment there is no activity where I had the cancer before, but there is activity in the throat. When I get back to England, I have to have an operation to remove this thing at the back of my nose. The doctors found a lump there and we don’t know if it is cancer or what, but I feel OK at the moment.”
While it's great that Iommi says he's feeling alright, metastases in cancer is a very real concern and it's probably for the best he's taking care of this ASAP. So here's hoping 2016 doesn't end on a bad note for the lord of the riffs.
