Ayreon releasing a new album is never some little to-do. Mastermind behind Ayreon Arjen Anthony Lucassen generally takes about four years between records, and always gets a slew of vocalists to play the roles inwhatever concept he's fleshing out on any given record. In the past, he's had vocalists from Nightwish, Dream Theater, Grand Magus, Devin Townsend, and Kamelot among a whole slew of others. Townsend was one of the very few instances where Lucassen incorporated growling into his music, and it seems like that's about to make a comeback.
Ayreon is teasing a new album right now, and while it's no surprise that Dream Theater's James LaBrie will be on it, it is a surprise that Between The Buried And Me's Tommy Rogers will be on it! Check out a teaser of Rogers below, and while there's no growling in there, Ayreon does hint at it in the comments. The album will also feature Epica's Simone Simmons and guitarist Paul Gilbert, as far as we know from the teasers!
