Vltimas is slowing things down a bit with their new single "Invictus", though the word "slow" is subjective. It's slow in Vltimas' world, midpaced in everyone else's – and yet it's still a crusher.

Vltimas features guitarists Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen (ex-Mayhem, Aura Noir) and João Duarte (Corpus Christii), vocalist David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel), drummer Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy), and bassist Ype TVS (ex-Dodecahedron). Vltimas will release their long-awaited sophomore effort Epic on March 15, which feels like an appropriate title given the singles thus far.

Epic was recorded by producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Grave Miasma) with engineer Jonathan Mazzeo (First Fragment, Sickening) at Arda Recorders in Porto, Portugal, and was mixed and mastered by Arellano also handled the mix and master. Epic features artwork by Italian artist Daniele Valeriani (Mayhem, Unanimated), and is available for pre-order here.
