Unreleased Dio-Era BLACK SABBATH Song "Slapback" Surfaces Online

Recorded during the Heaven & Hell period in the 80s.

DIO

The estate of frequent Black Sabbath collaborator, live keyboardist, and sometimes bassist Geoff Nicholls has posted a real gem for Black Sabbath fans – an unreleased song called "Slapback". Nicholls' stepson and executor of the estate Gary Rees said the song was on a cassette that also contained a Heaven & Hell demo, but there's really no information available about the song.

"This latest upload from the Geoff Nicholls estate I believe is called 'Slapback' from the scrawling on the cassette and the chorus," said Rees. "This is from the same cassette as the Heaven & Hell upload on this channel. It doesn't sound like a typical Sabbath song if it is them but it does sound like Ronnie James Dio. It must be a cover, any clues?"

"I have no idea about anything I wasn't there. Everything is speculation. Great tune by the way. Is it Ronnie on bass or 'a friend from Birmingham'?"

Stream "Slapback" below, which definitely 100% has Dio has on vocals. Here's hoping Rees can eventually publish this tape in its entirety for the world to hear!
