My Chemical Romance is back and they're definitely grittier than they've ever been before. The band is now streaming their first new single in eight years 'The Foundations Of Decay," which seems to call back to their earlier material with a slightly harder edge (see the breakdown toward the middle). Though I guess this isn't too surprising, given My Chemical Romance is taking out bands like Devil Master on some tour dates and frontman Gerard Way recently guested on an Ibaraki single.
What I'm getting at here is that it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that My Chemical Romance just goes full-in on being heavier at this point. Because really, what do they have to lose? They've been successful throughout their careers, the members have done just fine on their own, and most importantly is that they're doing what's genuinely interesting to them. Stream the song here.
