If you followed Kirk Hammett's career, you know that the Metallica guitarist has the utmost respect for legendary shredder Michael Schenker.
You could practically see Hammett fanboy out when he had a chance to jam with Schenker during a taping of Vh1's That Metal Show a few years ago.

Schenker famously played with Scoprions and UFO before launching a slew of solo projects. So, when the opportunity to collaborate was given to Hammett, he jumped at the opportunity.
