AXIOMA Invoke Heavy Post-Black Metal Riffage On "Septic"

"Let the soothing sounds of 'Septic' lull you into oblivion."

Axioma

Four-piece noise-making merchants Axioma hail out of Cleveland, OH and have been dishing up some blackened tunes since 2015. Featuring ex-members of Ringworm, Holy Ghost, and current members of Forged in Flame, Aureae Crucis, and many others, Axioma are vets of heavy, aggressive tunes. A post-black metal unit that is not afraid to dip into death here and there, and those of you that heard Crown know this. However, Axioma is far from finished and is here to unleash some more darkness with their latest video and single "Septic."

The track takes off quick. It immediately sounds diabolical and builds itself around some very straight black metal riffage. Axioma switch it up with some jumpy bits and pinched harmonics. The whole package comes with a nice brutality factor that sometimes sounds like it's flirting with death metal.

The video is largely a live shot of the band playing. And it captures the track well because hearing this and then seeing the video, Axioma is the kind of band that sounds impactful in the studio, but even more in a live setting.

Also, we have a quote here from the band on the track. I think this is coded language to bust out a charcuterie board while jamming this.

"'Septic' is one of our more pleasing and refined offerings about how humans are our own worst affliction. So draw up a bath, pour a glass of wine, and let the soothing sounds of 'Septic' lull you into oblivion."

Sounds like oblivion has some good riffs. Axioma's newest record Sepsis will drop on June 24th. You can preorder the new album here.
