Cliff Burton's Dad, Ray, Honored In The Stands Of A San Francisco Giants Game Last Night

As American sporting leagues resume, without fans in attendance, some baseball teams have seen this as a marketing opportunity, offering fans the option to purchase a cardboard cutout of themselves to be placed in the stands of a baseball game. Looks like one Giants fan happens to also be a fan of the late great Ray Burton, father of late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton.

Kudos to publisher Ian Christe of Bazillion Points for noticing that Cliff Burton's dad, Ray, is among the people propped up folks in the stands in Oracle Park for the San Francisco Giants game behind first base. Here he is, pictured as outfielder Jaylin Davis takes first base. I love Ian's line "Bass for first base."

It's not clear if a fan paid for Ray to appear or if the team themselves put Ray in the stands, as the Giants have a great relationship with Metallica, who've done a Metallica night with the baseball team many years in the past.

Honestly though, this one is the best:
