Over the weekend, the Facebook page of the Summer Slaughter tour, which bills itself as the most extreme tour of the summer, sent out a few status updates, that were a bit cryptic. They all followed the same format…a band name and a question mark. Clearly, the promoters are trying to gauge interest and see what their fans are into. So who did they post about?
It all started on Friday with "Children of Bodom?" which got approximately 1,300 likes. This was followed up with "The Dillinger Escape Plan?" which received a slightly better response of 1,900 likes. Yesterday, they posted "Gojira?" which got 2,300 likes and finally "The Black Dahlia Murder?" who won the unofficial straw poll with a crushing 3,900 likes.
Obviously, none of these bands are even close to confirmed. I'm sure the promoters just want an idea of who to try to recruit for next summer's package, but hey, I would not complain about a Black Dahlia Murder, Children of Bodom, Gojira, The Dillinger Escape Plan billing for the tour, would you?
While we patiently await official announcements, which will likely happen in February, take a look back at our coverage of previous Summer Slaughters.
