A few weeks back, Sharon Osbourne made a big deal about how November's Ozzfest Japan would feature the farewell appearance of Black Sabbath. At the time, we weren't sure if this meant their farewell to Japan or the entire world. Well, turns out it's neither as Sabbath have pulled out of the gig!
A new statement posted to the band's Facebook reads:
Despite previous reports, Black Sabbath will not appear on this year’s Ozzfest Japan, the show will instead feature the festival’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends).
This is reason for concern. The last time Sabbath cancelled and changed it to "Ozzy and Friends" was when Tony Iommi was too sick to tour from his cancer treatments. Could Iommi's cancer have relapsed? For the sake of his well being, obviously, we hope that is not the case, and perhaps we're just overreacting.
Previously, Black Sabbath have promised one final album and tour. Let's hope they can fulfill that promise.
