ZAKK WYLDE Says He's Just A Phone Call Away From PANTERA Reunion

Zakk is down, Phil is down, Rex is down. But you know who isn't down?

We couldn't end the year without one more story about how everybody but Vinnie Paul is game for a Pantera reunion.

This time, it's guitarist Zakk Wylde, longtime friend of Dimebag Darrell, who along with perhaps Kerry King were the only two guitarists that Pantera fans would ever accept for a possible Pantera reunion/tribute tour with all the original members (except for Dime of course).

Speaking to CKLB FM's "Do You Know Jack?" radio show about his recent tour with Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo's current band, Down, and their covering Pantera with Rex Brown on bass, Zakk said:

"It's definitely a good time [whenever I get to play Pantera songs with singer Philip Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown]. I mean, if somebody was to say 'a reunion,' I'd go, well, it's a reunion of Phil, Rex and Vincenzo [drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott]. But I'm just saying, for me, it's just… it's me going in and honoring and paying tribute [to Dimebag] at the same time."

"Whenever we've gotten together and jammed on the tunes… and Vinnie sometimes is at Black Label gigs and Vinnie has gotten up on drums and jammed aBlack Label tune. And between HELLYEAH, we've all [toured and played] together. So it's always a good time whenever we're all hanging out together. But, like I said, whenever… 'Cause people always ask me, 'Is it ever gonna happen?' You know, that's all up to the fellows. But I love the guys. [And] I'm just a phone call away."

As much as Zakk is into it, and Phil and Rex are into it and the fans are into it, I just don't ever see Vinnie Paul being into it. Paul has gone on record saying there is no bad blood between him and his former bandmates but he still has no interest in playing with them ever again.
