High on Fire join the ranks of metal bands that have conceived some form of branded alcohol with their upcoming brew, Razorhoof! I hope it tastes like cigarettes and whiskey… just like how I assume Matt Pike smells.
So in addition to being in the studio for a pretty short amount of time with producer Kurt Ballou, High on Fire have announced that they'll be working in cooperation with Three Floyds brewery to do their Razorhoof beer! Well, saison ale, as the beer is, which Wikipedia describes as:
"…a broadly defined pale ale that in modern versions is generally around 7% abv, highly carbonated, fruity, spicy (sometimes from the addition of spices), and is influenced by Saison Dupont Vieille Provision."
Sounds like a fall beer, which goes really well with sludge metal! Something about High on Fire's doomy sound and the fiery look of fall… but here's no release date for the beer just yet. However, if you go on Three Floyds beer listing on their site and scroll down, there's an unnamed beer in there with no image that's set for a February 2014 release. Maybe that's it? Who knows. Let's hope that frontman Matt Pike isn't on the tasting committee, seeing as though he just got out of rehab last year.
Here's a picture of the band brewing the beer on the night of August 19 (which they posted on Facebook) too, just in case you needed to see that kind of that:
And here is the namesake song:

Speaking of bands and beer, have you checked out all the other bands that have released some form of alcohol yet that we've covered (all those links are band brews. Enjoy)?
