EVILE – Hell Unleashed

This UK unit has revamped its lineup (to include two new guitarists including new singer Ol Drake), and while they have been at their particularly brash brand of thrash/death for almost 20 years, 'Hell Unleashed' finds them at no loss for new ideas and high velocity moves. Careful on the video, folks, seizure possibilities ahoy.

PORTRAYAL OF GUILT – 2020 Will Burn In Hell Forever

A menacing intro, a choking kickoff into relentless blasts of post-HC/blackened/screamo mayhem. Austin TX continues to kick ass in new, advanced, hybridized metal and this trio is no exception. 'We Are Always Alone' hit in January on Closed Casket Activities label and we're happy to say the band will host a Gimme DJ special in the weeks ahead.

CHILDREN OF TECHNOLOGY – The New Barbarians

A generous slab of cyborg thrash evoking all the titans of the past with a healthy bit of the faux-futurism we also loved so well in the 80s. Buzzsaw riffs fly off the wheel in a Mötorific fashion, troglodyte rhythms stomp everywhere, when it comes to modern upgrades of some vintage buttstomp moves, these Italians prove they can often do it better.

BONGZILLA – Sundae Driver

'Weedsconsin' is the first Bongzilla LP in 16 years, and these guys have gotten off the couch (they took a 2009-15 hiatus in fact) with some evolutions of sorts. Cooter Brown has stepped aside leaving Muleboy, Spanky and Magma to carry on as a trio, they started their own label Gungeon Records, and have unveiled this awesome new track from their forthcoming Heavy Psych Sounds LP. Best of all, they have agreed to a Gimme special on 4/20 (!)

THE RUINS OF BEVERAST – Ropes Into Eden

German one-man unit headed up by Alexander von Meilenwald slings low on this amazing new LP 'The Thule Grimoires', a true tour through a varied and wide-swinging array of genres, ideas and executions. Woozy subsonic bass tones, claustrophobic atmosphere, explosive treble-blasts and gargled vocal attacks all are among a myriad of elements making this an intriguing listen.
