ESOTERIC – Rotting In Dereliction

This UK unit's late 90's sprawling double LPs like 'Epistomological Despondency' forged some real new strains of sonic doom in that country. Cold dissonant atmospheric sounds that were truly ripe with emotion and a career trajectory that crawled slothlike through releases in 2003, 2008, 2011, and now with their return with 'A Pyrrhic Existence". OG member Greg Chandler guest DJs on Gimme October 30th.

WARSENAL – Forever Lost

There's a Cronos-like bellow, crisp, no-nonsense attack and basic production that appeals here from these Canuck speed demons that should jive with Voivod, Overkill and Possessed fans. 'Feast Your Eyes' (uh, grim cover art), hits on Svart label November 15th.

MORTIFERUM – Funereal Hallucinations

Thanks to our Grave Convulsions host Anthony B for the heads up on this, the debut of some deathmetal heads on Profound Lore after a highly touted demo and some heavy touring. A mulch-infested grease fire of great Northwestern proportions.

LITURGY – God of Love

First new music in a bit from these NYC post-black metal synergists, they've got a new drummer Leo Didkovsky after Greg Fox left for Uniform pastures. This is a monster 8 minute stunner complete with strings and harp intro that descends into typical Liturgy swirling chaos. Anxious to hear the full length, west coast dates through November as well.

NORTHERN HAZE – Quviasuk

A dip back to 1985 for this one; for the uninitiated, Igloolik, Canada's Northern Haze were a psych/metal combo with all lyrics in their native Inuktitut tongue. CBC aided with their debut, but as it was incredibly hard to tour the extreme North, the band faded (also after the death of one member and the murder of another almost immediately afterwards). They returned in 2019 for an LP but remained as isolated and elusive as ever. Supreme Echo has issued their 80's recordings.
