Escuela Grind – "All Is Forgiven"

Wow, nails-hard post-powerviolence-whatzit out of New England! Katerina Economou is a fearsome beast on vox, the band a full-on blast of dissonance and cage-rattle to appeal to Pig Destroyer legions and anyone interested in the molten properties of modern HC. They just knocked around the audience at Psycho Las Vegas and are on the road now in support of Memory Theater out September 30!

Gaerea – "Mirage"

Portugal's Gaerea challenges the archetype of black metal, coloring outside of the genre's lines with melancholy texture and deep emotion. Their last album Limbo was an exercise in catharsis and the latest and third LP Mirage hits on September 30 on Season of Mist. Euro and South American tours ensue this fall and we've got them back on Gimme for a guest special September 21.

Slugcrust – "Demise Promise"

The South's gonna do it again, and by that we mean use human roadkill as pizza topping as well depicted in their latest video (complete with Funeral Chic's Ryan Lockhart in the lead role). Fetid grind to the max, Slugcrust's Ecocide arrives September 9 on Prosthetic and we've got them Monday the 12 at 12pm PT/3pm ET for a guest DJ jam!

Exhumed – "Drained of Color"

The gore kings are back! Exhumed effortlessly have staked their ground of blast-beat-laced, chainsaw-riffin, gurglin' fx-drenched California fun in the sun the way Mike Love could never fully embrace correctly. To The Dead hits on Relapse October 21, with a US tour November and December, AND Matt Harvey returns for his umpteenth Gimme appearance guest DJing September 20! Bring a tarp!

Chrome Ghost – "The Furnace"

The Diving Bell greatly intrigued us here at Gimme HQ with its cinematic sweeps and lush imagery that went head to head with some hard rhythms and scarifying vocal attack. The newest, third LP House of Falling Ash (Seeing Red label) continues to challenge conventions. One can hear Mogwai and Alice In Chains meeting, in some room, somewhere, and having a tiff or a tea, just when passages enter brutality channels flip into some peaceful and gorgeous movements that could mirror a European lake or a kegger in the Northwest woods. Chrome Ghost temper transitions seamlessly.
