ATTAXE – Metal Messiah
Something about raw demo-quality 80's thrash and the city of Cleveland go together like cheap beer and well, cheap beer. We mean this in the most positive sense possible. Attaxe sported over 17 members over their tenure, releasing a stream of demos through the mid 80's until an actual release in 1990, then compilations in the 2000's. Now, Pure Steel releases a set of demos, '20 Years the Hard Way', highlighting this band's raw attack with a smattering of tuneful power metal leanings if you sniff closely.
HELLRIPPER – Spectres of the Blood Moon Sabbath
We love James McBain, the one-man black/speed metal entity from Aberdeen, Scotland who operates very much in the vein of old-school bands such as Venom, Kreator, Sodom etc. With a steady stream of releases since its formation in 2014, Hellripper's intentions are clear, total fucking mayhem, and we're psyched for his upcoming Peaceville release 'The Affair of the Poisons' and his return to Gimme's guest DJ hotseat October 9th (when the record hits).
