While we wait for Metallica to write some new music in quarantine, YouTuber Funk Turkey has given us the next best thing (kind of). The YouTuber has in their own words "[used] lyrics.rip to scrape the Genius Lyrics Database, I made a Markov Chain write Metallica lyrics" to create a new Metallica song that isn't at all a new Metallica song titled "Deliverance Rides."
The craziest part is that it's not terrible! I mean, it's a little jumpy and the lyrics don't make a ton of sense (I personally love "Death! Deliverance rides! / Yeah-yeah, no!"), but for an AI-generated song it's pretty damn cohesive.
