International Supergroup SOLUS EX INFERIS Drop A Killer Ode To Overkill On “Constructing The Great Divide”

Hey there, tech fiends. It's that time of the week again. Before we dive into today's focus, here's the usual weekly reminder that if you're looking for even more sick bands to hear, all prior editions of this series can be perused here.

I’ve got a killer new song from Solus Ex Inferis called “Constructing The Great Divide” to share with you all today. The group will be releasing their debut album, Daemones Ceramici on July 9th and it’s a record you’ll want to nab for sure. As usual, you can read on to learn more about the band and the music or immediately scroll below and click play on the song.

For those new to the group, Solus Ex Inferis is an international supergroup of sorts, one of many modern tech-death acts that simply wouldn’t exist without the internet. On vocals is none other than Sahil Makhija of Demonstealer and Demonic Resurrection fame. Guitar duties are split between Dave Smith from Manhattan and mad lad Australian shredder Ollie Morgan of Viraemia and Necropathy fame. Bassist Mauricio Catalán adds frenetic low end to the music while renowned drummer Marco ‘Lord Marco’ Pitruzzella who is in a shitload of bands adds his usual machine gun like percussive assault to the music. That’s a lot of talent for just one group and the group adds an additional layer of eye-popping shred to the mix with guest solos from Bleak Flesh guitarist Matias Quiroz on five of the album's seven tracks. Including a solo from him on the song, "Constructing The Great Divide" that we’re premiering today.

As far as the music we’re premiering today goes, “Constructing The Great Divide” leans into brutal-minded tech-death driven by excess and over-the-top grandeur. This is the kind of music that people who don't like tech-death complain about very vocally but that's not a slight against the music really. Although to me, it’s a damn good song and one piece of an overall very interesting upcoming album from a band that’s only been around since 2017.

I try to ask bands I’m doing a premiere for if I can get some additional information about the music being covered and vocalist Sahil Makhija sent over the following statement about “Constructing The Great Divide”.

"
Constructing the Great Divide is a song about human exploitation. How people are divided by religion, race, and other parameters. It's about how man created the illusion of God and used that as a tool to control the masses. It's about how propaganda is used to create hate and spread lies which is exploited by politicians and religious leaders to feed their lust for power and greed for wealth. It questions war and how national pride is sold to us."

So be sure to check out “Constructing The Great Divide” below and if you like this new song the first single can be heard here if you're interested. Pre-orders for Daemones Ceramici are now live through
Bandcamp as well. You can follow the group over on the Solus Ex Inferis Facebook Page.
