Oh man, it's the moment we've all been waiting for! Time for some new Ihsahn! It's definitely not what you're expecting either.
So last night the BBC 1 Rock Show with Daniel P Carter streamed "Hiber" by Ihsahn (skip to about 21:40 to hear it) off his newest record, Das Seelenbrechen, which you can read all about right here. It's a really strange, almost atmospheric song that isn't the same brand of heavy you've come to know from the man who penned After and Eremita, but he even said it's going to be a largely improvisational record. It's still a sweet song though that relies on a few themes to carry through and keep it interesting, which it definitely does. I'm even more pumped about this record now than I was when it was announced! It'll be interesting to hear what the rest sounds like given the single.
