The Ocean are coming out with their Pelagial album pretty soon. Here's yet another reason you should be stoked about it!
So you've already heard the instrumental stream of the record and absolutely need to know what it's like with vocals, right? Well here's a small taste of what's to come, and Metal Blade couldn't have chosen a better song to do it with. It's easily one of my favorite songs off the record… in fact, it's right up there with the rest of the songs! Y'know, since every song off their record is astounding and might as well just be named one of the best records of 2013 right here and now. What makes this record isn't just the fact that it's heavy; because it really isn't. It's the compounding of a bunch of very different and coherent sounds along with some pretty interested and consistent instrumentation. Pianos where they should be, violins where they should be, and everything else in moderation; self-control makes a great record, and The Ocean showcase their mastery of it here.
