Oh man, if you love the chilled out side of Cynic then you are absolutely going to love Onward With Love. The project features Cynic frontman and guitarist Paul Masvidal alongside frequent Cynic vocal collaborator Amy Correria. Check out Onward With Love's first song "Kali In My Arms" right here, but don't expect anything even remotely heavy. It's a very down-tempo song that features a lot of acoustic guitar and general spaciness, but it's just so damn good!
Also, yes- you're hearing the work of Cynic drummer Sean Reinert and bassist Sean Malone in the song as well. According to ThePRP, the two are not official members of the group and are only collaborating with Onward With Love for this specific song. No word on if the rest of the album will feature different rhythm sections or if it'll all be acoustic guitars and not much in the way of a rhythm section.
I also wonder what this means for the future of Cynic- will the group continue down the progressive psychedelic path or is this now the outlet for that?
