The First Trailer for Dune Looks Metal as Fuck

dune

Every once in a while, we like to cover a movie that, while not necessarily metal, is quite metal as fuck. We think the trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated upcoming film, Dune, fits that description.

Villeneuve follows up his reiminaging of Blade Runner with 2017's Blade Runner 2049 reimagines Frank Herbert’s legendary 1965 novel for the big screen, and our first look as us drooling.

The movie stars Timothée Chalamet as Prince Paul Atreides, and features a cast of noted metalhead Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Oscar Issac, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and mother fuckin' Stellan Skarsgård.

The trailer is scored by Pink Floyd's "Eclipse," and Hollywood's most metal composer, Hans Zimmer was in charge of the score for the film.

Take a look at the trailer below. The film comes out on December 18th, and yes there will be a sequel.

The synopsis of the film reads "A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive."
