Members of LAMB OF GOD, KISS, TRIVIUM & More React To Today's Marriage Equality Ruling

The US Supreme Court made a monumental ruling today resulting in same-sex marriage being legal in all 50 states. Naturally, it's a topic that everybody is talking about, and metalheads are no different. The outpouring of positivity and support seems to overshadow some of the more ridiculous rebuttals.

We have collected a score of tweets and Instagram postings from musicans showing their support:

I am in Europe right now on tour, but I would like to take the time to publicly express my happiness over some news my wife emailed me from home- the United States Supreme Court ruling that same-sex marriages are now legal in all 50 states. Lately there have been racially motivated killings at home, religious loonies commiting horrific terrorist acts over here in Europe and in the Middle East, there is warfare all over the fucking place, & a ton of people live in poverty the world over- sometimes it's hard to keep a smile on my face, & I wonder how long our world can keep going before we all just kill each other off. But then are those small moments when love wins, when we actually advance a tiny bit as human beings and realize that "Hey- that person or persons may be different than me, but that doesn't make them any less than me, and they certainly should have the same rights as me." I have gay friends- they go to work, they pay their taxes, they pay their mortgages just like everyone else. They are good people, otherwise they wouldn't be my friends. And sometimes they are assholes just like everyone else too, but I still love them just like I love my straight friends, even when they are being jerks- why shouldn't they have the same legal rights as me & my wife? Now they do. Whether some people like it or not, love wins this time, & I am stoked. It's a historic moment, & even in the midst of all the other sadness & craziness it makes me smile. Now we just gotta try & grow up about a few other things…

The SCOTUS yesterday sucked. SCOTUS today sucked less n made a good call. Let gay people enjoy the marriage tax penalty…

Having so much fun on this year's @vanswarpedtour so far! Thank you to everyone who has come out and watched our sets! It's been a pleasure playing our songs for you and we cannot wait for the rest of the summer💀 on another note I wanted to share my happiness for the not only the LGBT community but every forward thinking and positive person in the United States on this historic day. It's great to know that the current generation of Americans are making such HUGE steps for acceptance and understanding. While this is obviously a monumental win for our LGBT brothers and sisters, I'd like to think that this is also a win for all of us who believe that people should be granted the right to be who they are and love who they love. Keep rockin' and break down the walls of hatred around the world! #lovewins
