Introducing the SLAYER Pizza: Best Eaten Piece by Piece

Get it? Because of the popular Slayer song, "Piece By Piece"

Metal is everywhere, even in our food. We've spotlighted a fine establishment on the west coast called Grill 'Em All, who create metal-inspired burgers, and there's also Kuma Burgers in Chicago that do metal burgers but this post is about pizza!

Food blog Rice and Bread posted a recipe for what they're calling the "Slayer pizza." Besides the traditional marinara sauce, the pizza is made entirely from a communion wafer crust, and includes chopped Fra Mani toscano, soppressata (which is superior to pepperoni in every way), finocchiona, Cypress Grove “Lamb Chopper” cheese and an altar wine. The guys at Rice and Bread had a lot of fun describing the pizza:

The flour was stone ground from 350 communion wafers and kneaded together on an altar of sacrifice.

As the pizza is sliced and “Angel of Death” is unleashed, you will scream along with the first taste.

Like Jesus on the cross, heavy guitars rip through meat and cheese, exposing the unholy red sauce underneath.

The pizza is soaked with a torrential altar wine gastrique. Raining blood from a lacerated pie!

Now if you excuse me, I need to go grab some lunch!
