I'm still recovering from my trip to SXSW last week. One of the highlights of the week was seeing my favorite new metal band, Entheos at some random tent. When I walked in, there was an acoustic indie band playing. For a minute, I thought I was at the wrong show, but then I spotted the band's publicist and he assured me this was the spot.

The band set up and it was very apparent that the people sticking around were not familiar. But, as the band ripped through some of their brutal songs, there was a shift. People started getting into it. Fans would come in, hearing the amazing blasts from drummer Navene K and the precise bass lines from Evan Brewer, as well as the killer riffage of

The real star of the show was vocalist Chaney Crabb. She ripped and roared her vocals, all with a massive smile on her face. It was clear she was just as surprised the crowd was digging it and she couldn't help but smile. Entheos had won over South by Southwest.

Hopefully, when you blast the opening track of their upcoming full-length album, The Infinite Nothing will win you over as well. These guys combine elements of death metal and hardcore in a truly unique way and the vocals are nothing but brutal. Jam out to "Perpetual Miscalculations."

Last night, vocalist Chaney Crabb called into the RIP a Livecast and was an awesome guest, talking about her South by Southwest experience, the band's favorite music to listen to in the van (not what you'd expect) and future touring plans. Check out the interview here.

Entheos' The Infinite Nothing is out April 1st. Pre-order for as low as $9.49.
