Chad Gray Hopeful There Will Be Another HELLYEAH Album

Not exactly how guitarist Tom Maxwell feels.

HELLYEAH Unveil First Single, "333," From Final Album with Vinnie Paul

The future of Hellyeah seems to still be in doubt following the death of drummer Vinnie Paul (ex-Pantera) in 2018. While the band put out a posthumous record with Paul on drums in 2019 titled Welcome Home, and have since recruited Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga, guitarist Tom Maxwell made it clear he's not sure he wants to continue the band without Paul.

During a recent discussion with Headbangers Con, vocalist Chad Gray said the band is in a holding pattern. Gray still made it clear he wants to do more music, and has been asking Maxwell about new riffs.

"Everybody's just in a holding pattern right now. I don't have any new music. I've been telling Tom to get me some riffs so I can write, because right now is a great time to fucking write. So we'll just have to see, man. Obviously, we need to get together and write some music. But, yeah, I mean, hopefully. It's all fucked up right now, nobody knows what's going on with anything."

So we'll see what happens, but it doesn't sound like new Hellyeah is coming anytime soon.
