Win FREE Tickets to See This Year's Mayhem Fest

We have just launched an official Rockstar Energy MAYHEM FEST channel with videos from each of the tour’s acts, including Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Mastodon, and many more. The channel can be viewed here.

To celebrate the launch of the channel, we have teamed up with Rockstar Mayhem Fest and Roadrunner Records to give fans the opportunity to win free tickets to the show. We will be giving away a pair of tickets to every stop on the tour.

UPDATE: All the ticket winners have been chosen. Congratulations! We will be doing more giveaways such as this very soon.

How do you enter to win a pair of tickets?
It's quite simple. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post with the tour stop you would like to attend. In order to comment, you have to be a registered Junkie of Metal Injection. Not a registered junkie yet? No sweat. Click here to register, it's absolutely free!

A little over a week before the date of the show we will be contacting you via a Private Message on this site (you would also get an email alert) and then you would need to respond within 24 hours with your address in order to get the tickets. Failure to respond will result in somebody else being picked. Once we have your address, we will send out the tickets immediately. Each winner will receive two tickets to the show! We are not liable for your tickets if they get lost in the mail.

So start commenting! Below are all the tour dates. Copy the line of the date you want to attend EXACTLY and you will be entered to win free tickets…

DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN guitarist puts DISTURBED feud to rest

Posted by metalinjection on June 6th, 2008

Well, it was fun while it lasted, but it looks like this whole beef between DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and DISTURBED may be coming to an end. Earlier today, Ben Weinman posted a guest blog on Headbangers Blog putting this whole feud to an end, blaming being initially misquoted by the author of the piece by writing:

I was asked in an interview about whether or not we practice our stage show based on the fact that we are so active. I simply said no, and that I once saw Disturbed sound check in London when we were playing the smaller club attached to the venue that they were playing the same night. I think our room was 1000 people and their room was like 2,000 people. They were practicing where they would stand and pose and stuff. I was just differentiating what we do and what they do. We don’t do that. Big deal.

Considering how the information was presented to them, I don’t blame them for being a little pissed. But to imply that we need to be taught a lesson from them about how it works in the big time is ridiculous. This band has been self contained and managed for 11 years. We have played in front of 100 people and in front of 50,000 people. We have been on national TV shows and covered in major publications. I don’t really care about their lighting cues or guitar solos. Good for them and good luck with that. I hope they sell a codrillian records and levitate over the crowd on a unicorn. Oh and just to clear another thing up… I never even responded to his comments until now. I don’t write our MySpace blogs. So again, misinformation.

Ok cool, but he did still say that Disturbed guitarist "Dom Deluise or whatever his name is with the little peen complex" but hey, we'll give you a pass cause that was f'n hysterical. We know that where there are shitty bands, Dillinger will be there to call them out on their small peens!

The DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN vs. DISTURED war of words continues

Posted by RobInjection on June 4th, 2008

We have tried to stay out of this little "beef" that is manifesting between the DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and DISTURBED. In case you are not in the loop yet, our buddy Axl Rosenberg over at MetalSucks wrote a pretty fantastic piece on the whole situation a few weeks back. This gist of it was: Dillinger guitarist Ben Weinman talked about seeing Disturbed's sound check and his amazement at how rehearsed everything was, even down to where to stand for solos, to which Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan was all like "We sell more records than you." Not one to be outdone, Ben posted a blog on the band's Myspace page recently with the following message for Mr. Donegan:

The guitar player Dom Deluise or whatever his name is with the little peen complex from that band Disturbia or whatever they're called thinks that we care about them. Old news, but still funny. Check it. "My Ferrari is better than your Honda!!! Our stages come apart and travel with us and yours don't!!! We have thirty guitar techs and you have one!". Coooool self esteem barometer douchebag. Wait…what's that I hear? The sound of your band still sucking? Oh, right. Gotcha there, bud.

Mega-burn! Then, earlier today interview excerpts were posted on Blabbermouth from a recent interview on Rockline, with DISTURBED frontman David Draiman, and the dude seemed to take the high road: (more…)

MESHUGGAH video teaser; New 36 Crazyfists Video; GOD FORBID DVD preview; DISTURBED live

Posted by metalinjection on May 9th, 2008

> A teaser for MESHUGGAH's Bleed video has made its way online, and it looks very awesome. Check it out here with additional stills from the shoot. I had a chance to speak with Mårten Hagström during the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival about the video, and he clued me in that the band had no time to shoot any performance for the video, so its all just narrative (story). The directors of the video, Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland, came to the band with a concept and the band gave them full control to shoot it. Sounds like its going to be awesome! If you haven't checked out our recent interview with drummer Tomas Haake, you probably should just click here.

> 36 CRAZYFISTS premiere of their new video for the track "We Gave It Hell" can be seen on the Headbanger's Blog. The clip was directed by Soren (All That Remains, Unearth) and comes from the band’s new album The Tide and Its Takers, which comes out May 27.

> GOD FORBID have posted the cover art from their upcoming DVD, Beneath the Scars of Glory and Progression. The band has also put up two live tracks from the DVD, ‘Broken Promise’ and ‘End of the World’ up at their Myspace page.

> DISTURBED will be holding a free "e-concert" streaming at DeepRockDrive.com
