DISTURBED Is Considering A 25th Anniversary Tour For The Sickness

"We got big things to think about."

Remember that iconic drum beat that kicks off Disturbed's debut album, The Sickness? It's hard to believe, but that record is about to celebrate a major milestone: its 25th anniversary.

Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan recently chatted with Australia's Everblack podcast about the upcoming anniversary and revealed a surprising fact: he never gets tired of performing those classic songs. Y'know, as opposed to those bands who play the hits, but really wish they wouldn't have to.

"Just saying that, it's crazy. I remember when we were writing it, so to think that it's going on the 25th anniversary… we probably wrote it, though, in '96 when we first got together. Yeah, it's crazy that it's got the staying power like that, all those songs." Donegan said.

"And every time we play it, I know a lot of people think, 'Oh, you ever get tired of playing it?' It's been so long.' And I really don't. Because when you hear the crowd reaction, the second it opens up with that drum beat, it's just that adrenaline, and that blood flow gets going. It's still exciting to play it."

Donegan also touched on the possibility of a new Disturbed album and whether or not they'll do a 25th anniversary tour for The Sickness. The short answer is both could happen.

"[No plans for a new album] yet," said Donegan. "We're loosely talking about it. Right now, this whole past year up to now, it's all been touring mode. That's all we've been focused on, is the tour. But you know, we're thinking about what we're going to do.

"We got big things to think about, on if we're going to do a 25th anniversary tour next year, and if we do a new album, are we going to record it this year or the following year? So we got a lot on our plate. We got a lot to just sort out and prioritize what we want to do first."
