ALICE COOPER Guitarist Nita Strauss & HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale Had An Awesome WrestleMania Weekend

A big WrestleMania moment for two top shredders of hard rock.

A big WrestleMania moment for two top shredders of hard rock.

Is there such a thing as watching too much pro wrestling? Because I may have watched too much pro wrestling this weekend. You see, it was WrestleMania weekend, the biggest weekend of pro wrestling of the year not just for WWE, but for a ton of smaller promotions who all congregate wherever WWE is holding their big event to hold more intimate but still high stakes shows. A lot of these shows were livestreamed, and between those and UFC 223 in Brooklyn, I was witness to a lot of fights.

But what does this have to do with a metal site? Well, turns out some hard rock and heavy metal bands had a presence at the big festivities in New Orleans.

First up, at NXT Takeover, which is like the appetizer to the weekend (and still delivered one of the best three hour wrestling events you will see this year), Lzzy Hale of the Grammy-winning Halestorm played in Ember Moon, shredding and delivering vocals and doing an amazing job:

Cane Hill performed the official theme song of the show, "It Follows" to kick off the night as well:

During the show, Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss was shown in the audience and she wasn't just there as a fan.

She had her own WrestleMania moment when she played in Shinsuke Nakamura for his highly anticipated WWE Title match against A.J. Styles. The spectacle made for one of Nakamura's all time great entrances and one of the best moments of the whole night for this metalhead.

Nita couldn't be more pumped about her opportunity:

WWE.com talked to Nita after her incredible performance about how she became a fan of pro wrestling and how she was drawn to Shinsuke Nakamura's style:

Nita is currently hard at work on a solo album, which she is running a Kickstarter for before hitting the road with Alice Cooper this summer.

Overall, WrestleMania weekend was a fun one. Although, man that was a long show. I think I still might be watching it. My favorite two matches were Asuka vs. Charolette and, surprisingly, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle vs. Triple H and Stephanie. What were yours?
