Earlier this week, Sammy Hagar just released a new video, with fellow former Van Halen member Michael Anthony. Hagar and Anthony were together for Hagar's annual birthday bash. The bash typically takes place in Cabo San Lucas, but because of travel restrictions, they are doing it on Catalina Island off the coast of California. Hagar, Anthony and the rest of The Circle will be performing Van Halen covers all weekend. Footage of one of these covers has surfaced. The duo performed "Right Now."
In a video message earlier this week, Hagar said that Eddie's death hit him like a "freakin' Mack Truck" and that covering Van Halen this weekend will be "bittersweet."
Bassist Michael Anthony chimed in to say the whole thing felt surreal. The band's manager confirmed that a reunion tour was being planned with Anthony.
You can watch the clip below. One nice piece of information that came out in the wake of Eddie's death, is that he made peace with former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar before his death.
