Jack Thomas had a lifelong goal of becoming a pro drummer. Sadly, when he was just 17, he lost his right arm in a workplace accident where a conveyor belt severed his arm before he had a chance to realize what was happening. It wasn’t until after he walked outside to get help and someone said “I’m sorry buddy, but your arm is gone,” that he fully realized what had happened to him.
“I felt like my life was over,” Jack said. “But only for about 4 minutes.”
Jack didn’t let his accident overcome him and instead decided to overcome it.
“We all go through hardships. We all go through the worst thing that has ever happened to us. For me, it was losing a limb. But regardless, everybody has their struggles. Whether it be financial or even relationships, wherever it might be. We all have those frustrations and struggles.”
Jack challenges us to take those frustrations and struggles and turn them into something we can overcome. "If I can play “Duality” by Slipknot with just one hand, what’s your excuse?"
