Watain is back for the first time in four years with a new single "The Howling" and a new record called The Agony & Ecstasy Of Watain due out April 29. The single is pulling zero surprises on fans, in that it's a blackened journey through hell without a single moment of reprise.
"'The Howling' refers to the wordless voice of the wild, wailing eerily through the ages, urging us to leave our safe spaces and explore the dark recesses of the great Abyss both within and without," said vocalist E. Danielsson. "To see it, to learn from it, to know it."
Pre-orders are available here. You can also grab a limited 7" of "The Howling" here with a cover of Profanatica's "I Arose" on its B-side.
Watain will hit the road with Mayhem and Midnight starting next month.
