Shock Withdrawal – the band featuring vocalist Mitchell Luna (Noisear, ex-Maruta), guitarist and bassists Nick Emde (White Widows Pact), and drummer Jono Garret (Turbid North) – is now streaming their dizzying new single and video "Pain Absorption Threshold" from their debut record The Dismal Advance.
"This is yet another DIY low budget music video that we put together ourselves," said Luna. "It's one of my personal favorite tracks off the record, so I felt like we had to do it justice visually.
"It was filmed with the help of our friend Justin Paul, but I directed and edited it myself. I've always been a fan of music videos since I grew up watching late night MTV in the mid 90's, so I had to have some fun with creating this damn thing… and I did! I went the monochrome route with some twitchy graphics and static that was all created in After Effects. No AI imagery was used.
"We are all beyond stoked that the album has finally been released from its cage. We put a lot of effort into crafting it, and we are very proud with the results, which is what I feel matters most. This was made by death-grind weirdos, for death-grind weirdos. 21 minutes of blast beats and riffs. All gas no fucking brakes. Thank you for listening."
