METALLICA Streams "Phantom Lord" From ZAZULA Tribute Show

They also can't count anymore.

Metallica is now streaming their performance of "Phantom Lord" from the Zazula tribute show on November 6 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. Though the band plenty entertaining before the song even starts – James Hetfield jokes about possibly playing more old material (which was the whole show), tells the story of how Phantom Lord was a pretend band between him and his friend, and then they screw up the intro. It happens.

Long story short if you're not familiar, we all have Megaforce Records founders Jon "Jonny Z" and Marsha Zazula to thank for the advent of thrash metal. Among Megaforce Records' classic releases (Anthrax, Mercyful Fate, Testament, etc.) are Metallica's 1983 debut album Kill 'Em All and 1984 follow-up Ride The Lightning before the band left for Elektra Records to release Master Of Puppets in 1986. Marsha sadly passed away in January 2021, and Jonny Z in February 2022.
